Hire the developer, not the agency

Software development and engineering from one person in Sharjah, UAE. You brief me, I write the code, we talk directly. One project at a time — so if I say yes, it’s your project I’m working on.

What does Percuno do for clients?

Percuno provides software development and engineering, delivered by one senior developer. Four kinds of work: building a product from scratch for web, mobile or desktop; taking over a stalled or inherited codebase; shipping a specific feature, integration or migration that an existing team can’t get to; and writing the technical scope for a build before it starts. Percuno is based in Sharjah, UAE, and works with clients anywhere.

What kind of work can you take on?

Build it from nothing

You have a product in mind and no code. I take it from a conversation to something real and shipped — web, mobile or desktop. You get working software at the end, not a slide deck and a phase two.

Rescue what’s stalled

You have a codebase that someone else started and nobody is moving. A contractor left, a team got reassigned, or it was built fast and now nothing can be changed safely. I read it, tell you honestly what shape it’s in, and get it moving again. This is often cheaper than the rewrite you’re being quoted for — and sometimes it isn’t, in which case I’ll tell you that instead.

Ship the one thing your team can’t get to

You have engineers, and a specific thing that keeps sliding — an integration, a migration, a platform you have no one for. I take that one piece, scoped and bounded, and deliver it.

Work out what to build, before you pay to build it

You are not technical and you are about to commission software. Before that happens, you get a technical scope in writing: what to build first, what to leave for later, which platforms, which stack, and roughly what the build takes. It is the same document a build would start from, and it is yours whether or not Percuno does the building. Occasionally the honest answer is that the thing you need already exists off the shelf for a fraction of the price — that goes in the document too.

Who should hire Percuno?

Founders and small businesses who need one senior person actually writing code, who would rather have a direct line to the builder than a project manager relaying messages, and whose project genuinely fits one person. If you want to talk to the person doing the work and get a straight answer about what’s possible, that is what this is.

Who should not hire Percuno?

You should hire someone else if you need a team of ten working in parallel, 24/7 on-call cover or a guaranteed response-time SLA, a vendor who can pass a large-enterprise procurement process, or several developers to augment your existing staff. Percuno is one person. A one-person company is the right answer for some projects and the wrong one for others, and it is cheaper for both of us to find out now.

Can one developer really build my app?

It depends entirely on the project, and the honest answer requires knowing yours. One developer can build and ship a real cross-platform product — Percuno’s own products are being built that way. One developer cannot build a system that needs four specialisms at once, or deliver in a third of the time by adding people. The way to find out which one yours is: describe it, and get a straight answer, including "this needs a team" if that is the answer.

How do projects work?

  1. You email a description of what you need. A paragraph is enough to start; it goes straight to the developer.
  2. Then a conversation, directly with the developer. Long enough to understand the actual problem, not just the requested feature. If you want an NDA signed first, send it and it gets signed first.
  3. You get a scope, a price and a timeline in writing before any work starts. If the project isn’t a fit, you get told that at this stage — not three weeks in.
  4. I build it, and you see progress as it happens rather than at a reveal.
  5. You get the working software and the code, yours outright on full payment.

What will it cost?

Cost depends on scope, and you’ll get a figure in writing before any work starts. Describe what you need and you’ll get a scope, a price and a timeline — not a sales process. If it isn’t a fit, you’ll be told at that point rather than after a deposit.

Start a project

Email hello@percuno.com with a paragraph about what you need. It reaches the developer directly. You’ll get a real reply, including an honest "this isn’t a fit" if that’s the answer.

Frequently asked questions

What services does Percuno offer?

Software development and engineering: building web, mobile and desktop products from scratch; taking over stalled or inherited codebases; delivering specific features, integrations or migrations for existing teams; and writing the technical scope and architecture for a build before it starts.

Is Percuno an agency?

No. Percuno FZE is a one-person company. The person you brief is the person who writes the code. There are no employees and no subcontractors.

Where is Percuno based, and do you work with clients abroad?

Percuno is registered in a free zone in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, and works in Gulf Standard Time (UTC+4). Remote work with clients outside the UAE is fine; UTC+4 gives a full working-day overlap with Europe, the Middle East, South Asia and East Asia, and a morning overlap with the eastern United States.

How much does it cost?

It depends on scope. You get a scope, price and timeline in writing before any work starts.

Are you available right now?

Percuno takes one client project at a time and is one person, so availability is limited and start dates are measured in weeks rather than days. Email to ask about timing; you’ll get a straight answer rather than a yes followed by a queue.

Can you take over a project another developer started?

Yes — it is one of the four kinds of work Percuno takes on. That includes reading an unfamiliar codebase and telling you honestly what state it’s in before committing to anything.

Who owns the code you write?

You do. On full payment, the code written for your project is yours outright — the source, the repository and the right to use, change and keep it without paying Percuno again. Percuno keeps no ownership stake and no licence back. Third-party open-source libraries keep their own licences, as they do in any project.

Can Percuno invoice my company?

Yes. Percuno FZE is a registered free zone establishment in Sharjah, UAE, and invoices as a company.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes. Percuno signs client NDAs — mutual or one-way, either is fine. Send yours before you describe the project and it gets signed first, so you are not disclosing anything on trust.
